Aloha

Palm trees. Sushi. Sea turtles. Mai Tais.

After a busy and at times highly stressful first half of the year, I am more than ready to hit the beaches of Hawaii for some much-needed relaxation. Along with attending my sister-in-law’s wedding on the Big Island, Stephen and I will also be spending a few days on Oahu ahead of time, which I’m incredibly excited about.

Oahu is the one island we didn’t get to tour much during our honeymoon cruise three years ago, so I’m very much looking forward to sightseeing, eating great food and celebrating the 4th of July on the island’s famed North Shore.

To start getting into the Hawaiian spirit for our trip, we recently whipped up some delicious homemade mango sushi.

Also, since I still unfortunately haven’t had as much free time to blog lately, feel free to link up with me on FacebookTwitter and Instagram, where I’ll be sharing photos and updates from our trip. Of course, I’ll be sure to post a recap or two here, as well, once we’ve returned and I’ve managed to get back on track after being on island time for a couple glorious weeks!

Have you ever visited Oahu? Are there any sights or restaurants we absolutely must check out while we’re there?

Celebrating Three Years of Love

And...I'm back, hopefully for good this time! Things are still busy as I try to clear my plate before heading off to Hawaii next month, but I’ve really missed this blog and all of you, so here’s hoping I’ll be able to drop in and say hi at least once a week from now on.

In addition to the various work projects I’ve had underway, Tuesday was our third wedding anniversary, which Stephen and I celebrated with a wine and sushi tasting featuring pairings by one of our favorite vineyards. After enjoying a gorgeous evening outdoors, we then indulged in even more delicious sushi, plus cheesecake and champagne, once we got home.

My super cute anniversary present, featuring pictures from the sloth sanctuary we visited in Costa Rica five years ago.

Two of my all-time favorite things -- wine and sushi.

It took three years, but we’ve also finally finished off the last of the champagne bottles guests signed at our wedding, which are now on display as keepsakes, along with the photo-mat guestbook and other special items that still remind us of our day. I can hardly believe it’s already been three years, but I’m definitely looking forward to many, many more!
