Along with fun-filled vacations, late evening walks at
sunset and lazy days lounging with a good book in hand, summertime for me means feasting upon
the many delicious light foods the season is known for, from salads to grilled
vegetables to fresh-fruit desserts.
One such dessert, which my ever-talented husband treated me
to a couple weeks ago, is Williams-Sonoma’s classic strawberry shortcake, complete
with homemade whipped cream and flaky biscuit-like bread.
It was the first time I’d ever had this particular version
of strawberry shortcake before, but now that I’ve tried it, it’s quickly topped
my list of summertime favorites. Check out the recipe on the Williams-Sonoma
website, and give it a try for the perfect end-of-summer treat!
What's your favorite summertime dessert?
YUMMY! That looks amazing! I love Lemonade pie in the summer! So refreshing but I am definitely going to try this recipe! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ann! Lemonade pie sounds delicious! I've never had it before.
DeleteYum, that sounds delish! I've never tried shortcake with a flaky texture like that.
ReplyDeleteAnd my current favorite summer dessert is Brûléed Apricots (from Health-Bent).
Thanks, Morgan! Brûléed apricots sound delicious!
DeleteLooks delicious! I actually like Rhubarb pie in the Summer. Reminds me of Wisconsin.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nali! I haven't had rhubarb pie in ages!
Deleteyum yum yum! My strawberry shortcake is also made with biscuits! So much better than with pound cake :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura! I agree that making it with biscuits is so much better!
DeleteThis looks divine - Stephen did a great job! I shamefully admit that I used to love the KFC strawberry shortcake (I think it was more cakey though). Any cold bowl of cut summer fruit is great!
