As much as I dread the intense humidity that inevitably
accompanies Washington D.C. summers, I’m also quick to admit that there’s just something
magical about this time of year. After all, summertime means 4th of July, warm
evenings on the deck, fun travels to visit family and friends and, of course,
flip-flops on my feet day in and day out.
So, to help capture a little bit of summer's intangible
magic here on the blog, I’m devoting this week’s Five Things linkup to a few seasonally-inspired sayings.

What do you love most about summer?
Love the first saying! It's been Summer here for a while, but I love being able to lay by the pool on hot afternoons. Very relaxing!
ReplyDeleteI love the first saying, too! And I still need to get myself to the pool this year. I've been busy since it opened, but I'm hoping to get there soon!
DeleteThese are absolutely adorable! I'm so in love with that one "some see a weed, some see a wish." LOVE IT! I would definitely love a print of that to hang up!
ReplyDeleteJessica @ Sunny Days and Starry Nights
That would definitely be an awesome print to hang up! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! :)
DeleteLove all of these quotes!!! The last one is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteJayme @ Her Late Night Cravings
I love that one, too! Have a great weekend!
DeleteI love the 3rd one!
ReplyDeleteI love eating outdoors, grilling, going to the beach, hanging by the pool, the long days ... the only thing I don't like is when it hits 90 degrees, lol.
LOL! I don't like when it gets that hot, either, mostly because the humidity makes it unbearable. It was like that for part of this week, but it seems to be cooling down now. Have a great weekend, Faith!
DeleteOh let's not forget all the gorgeous flowers, fruits and veggies in season! I feel like everything looks and taste better in the summer.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree on that! I love light summer foods and all the beauty of nature.
Deletethe beach! the pool! anywhere I can keep cool, basically! ;)
ReplyDeleteI hear ya! Keeping cool was essential here this week, since it's been so hot and humid.
DeleteI love the heat. The humidity is too much though. Today was AMAZING though... Right?!
ReplyDeleteYeah, this past Friday and weekend were awesome! I can handle dry heat OK, but it's the stifling humidity I really dislike.
DeleteI love the 3rd pic!! Hmmm watermelon, ice cream, vacations, and all my teacher friends and mom being way more available than during the school year!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I still need to get my hands on some watermelon this year.
DeleteI'm loving DC in the summer too. On Monday, I went to the Mall and just walked around the monuments and people watched. I love how the city comes alive during the summer and there is just so much to do. It really is one of my favorite things.
ReplyDeleteYeah, aside from the humidity, DC in the summertime is awesome!
DeleteSummer is a really magical time..I like the getaways and time spent with the family!!
ReplyDeleteAgreed! This summer has been one of my favorites in a long time. :)
