365 Workouts: January Check-In

If you were caught in the path of Winter Storm Juno this week, I hope you’re staying safe and warm! We got all of two inches here in the DC area, but temps have been so low that the snow is still on the ground. Seriously, this is the time of year when I just want either one big, major snowstorm or none at all.

Anyway, as part of my 365 Workouts plan for 2015, I’m holding myself accountable with monthly check-ins. I’m proud to say that I've stayed on track so far, doing a fitness DVD or heading to trampoline boot camp every day this month (except for two especially tiring evenings when I settled for weights and crunches while watching TV). But still, that's something, right?

My special Flight Fit trampoline socks with sticky grip-strips on the bottom.
Working out consistently has me looking and feeling so much better already. I’m down a couple pounds, have more energy and have even adapted from being a night owl to turning in and waking up earlier. Here’s hoping I’ll be able to keep it up and continue seeing results during February!

How are you doing with your 2015 goals? Are you on track so far?

  1. That's awesome!! I've been sticking with my goals so far too! I agree about the weather! Can we just get a pile of snow and not get all of the little stuff? And once we get the big snow it can all go away. :-)

    1. Way to go on sticking with your goals, too! And yes, once we get a major snowstorm, it can all go away for another year. :)

    1. Way to go on eating healthily! I'm trying to stay on track that way, too, but it's hard during the winter when I crave comfort foods like mac 'n cheese!

  3. I was doing so well the first two weeks but slacked recently with all the snow days and the kids being home. I am too tired at night to muster the energy to work out! Hopefully I can start over next week. Great job keeping at it!

    1. Thanks! I figure that since I work at home and don't have kids yet, I really have no excuse not to. Once I have kids, though, that might change!

  4. omg good for you. This is an amaaazing goal, and I love how anything counts - because it does. Anything you can do even for a little or for a lot each day is something, and it all adds up and counts. I'm feeling very inspired!

    maybe i'll start tomorrow...or saturday...no let's just make it Monday :)

    1. LOL! Getting started is always the hardest part. But now that I'm used to doing it every day, it's not as tough anymore. And I agree that everything counts! Too many times, people figure that if they can't go all out, they might as well not do anything at all.

  6. Hey weights and crunches is still a great thing! I did a few machines last night at our condo gym and am definitely hoping to get to the gym more often (easier now with the nanny here!)

  8. I've been so up and down this month. I have really good weeks and then really bad ones! I need to just stick with it. I want the sun to come out and warm temps!! I love your socks and that you joined a class like this, I would love to go with a friend to something similar! Awesome that you did weights even while watching TV, great job!

    1. Thanks, Diana! It's a tough class but fun, too, which is what I need in a workout in order to stick with it. I'm ready for some warmer temps, as well! I can't wait to start walking and spending time outside again.
